About This Site This is not designed to give an accounting of my daily life but rather to share my random thoughts about this and that as it occurs to me to write it down. Nothing terribly earthshaking; nothing of major significance. Occasionally I feel the need to write something down and this seems like as good a forum as any. You may get to know me as you read through the writings, however, that is not the point of this blog. This is not a diary. Should I happen to write something that touches you in some fashion let me hear from you. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, of course, but, should you care to express those feelings, I expect you to be respectful about what you say. There is never a need to be nasty - we are all entitled to our opinions. If you think of something you would like to see talked about here, too, let me know. I love to write for the pure sake of writing but sometimes need an idea or two to get me started. Mostly this is for my own enjoyment and benefit. Writing relaxes me and allows me an acceptable outlet for my feelings. If others find some good here then all the better. Please note that occasionally my language may take a turn for the worse. That is my one vice and I am afraid I don't work very hard to correct it. If you are offended by that, I do apologize but it won't change so you can either choose to ignore it or not come back. Hopefully it isn't offensive enough to do chase you away, though! |
About Me I live in Minnesota and have been a fulltime SAHM (Stay At Home Mom - the term I like best to describe what I "do") to five sons for many years. I love to read and write, crafts, gardening and puttering on the computer. I also hate writing bios out. Trying to figure out what other people would find interesting about my life is something I find difficult. And so here are some "fun factoids" about me that I think make me ME!
** I could live in a library! My nightmare was always the episode of the Twilight Zone with Burgess Meredith where he is a major bookworm and then the entire world is destroyed and he left with all the books until he breaks his glasses and he can't see anything. Argghhhhhh!!!! ** I LOVE to drive fast. I would love to go do the Richard Petty Driving Experience. ** I spend far too much time online. I own websites and I co-manage others since I have learned how to make pages that look pretty and add the bells and whistles. I have penpals all over the world and I email rather than snail mail or phone anymore. I have a store on eBay, too, which keeps me moderately busy. ** I am a major Lord of the Rings fan. My family teases me about how many times I have watched the movies. We own the extended version of all three and I went to see number three four times when it was in the theaters. I love other movies, too, particularly the old b & w ones. Real sappy stuff. ** I absolutely love cats and dogs. And, no, I can't tell you which I like more. I love them both for different reasons. I have had a dog since I was a kid and always plan to have them. I got my first cats when I was in my early 20's and quickly found out they are another favorite of mine. Currently we have three dogs, six cats and two horses. ** I have very eclectic music tastes. In one day I might listen to Harry Chapin, 50's rock and roll oldies, the Carpenters, Eminem and the soundtrack from Footloose. I am NOT a fan of country or classical. ** I own my own tools - hand and power. I also own and know how to use a chainsaw which is always a good conversation starter. OK, that is enough. You get the picture, hopefully! If not, maybe you will as you read through the site.
